Keats Society poetry book:

About: The South East London Freedom From Torture Support Committee, in association with the Keats Society of Guy's Hospital, wanted to produce an anthology of poetry from World War I to raise money at their Piano, Poetry and Prose event.

Role: In addition to designing invites, tickets and programmes for the committee's events, designed and produced the book of poetry. This included designing a cover to look attractive, evoke the theme of the book, and relate to event and charity branding. Approached this goal using photographic textures, colour overlays and subtle typography. Also typeset and arranged the internal layout to convey the introductory text and poems, interspersed with comments from Keats Society members, in a clear and consistent manner. Finally, sourced printing to combine appropriate specifications and quality finish with low, econimcal cost.

Greenwich Young People's Council Mainifesto:

About: Greenwich Young People's Council (GYPC) were attending an event to promote their work to young people in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. They were after a gatefold leaflet outlining their manifesto in an appealing manner, along with matching banners to attract people to their stand. They wanted to build upon the previous GYPC promotional items, keeping Children's Society branding while bringing in a comic book style and influences from popular social media such as Instagram and Bitstrips.

Role: Devised several potential solutions for the project, then worked with feedback from the GYPC and The Children's Society to develop one design across the leaflet and banners. The final designs used a comic book narrative featuring photos of GYPC members with enlarged cartoon / Bitsrtips style heads, with a group photo livened up with a retro / Instagram feel. Introduced further features such as colour coding for manifesto points.

Testimonial:I’ve had really positive feedback from the young people’s council that were involved in this work that everything looked very professional on the day, so thanks for pulling out the stops to get it all there on time.” —Carly Brown, Children's Society Marketing Manager

The Vanishing booklet and film:

About: A large number of young people in care are likely to run away for one reason or another. The Children's Society had worked with young people who have run away and got them to express their experiences through short statements and drawings. They wanted to make a booklet and a film to communicate this to concerned professionals and foster carers, so they could better understand and help the young people.

Role: Designed a booklet with the aim of sensitively and evocatively integrating type and image within the charity's branding. This included a typographic treatment of the title to further convey the theme. Adapted the booklet to make an animated film.
